Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 519 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 28 vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, eight animal problems, six requests for agency assistance, four at­tempts to locate, one battery, 11 burglar alarms, 16 requests for citizen assistance, 12 reports of criminal damage to property, six reports of domestic violence, eight disturbances, one report of disorderly conduct, 27 re­ports of hazardous conditions, five juvenile problems/runaways, 18 reports of suspicious circumstances, five thefts, 15 traffic violations,  two vacation checks, 10 welfare checks, six fires, two fireworks complaints, one report of found property, three cases of fraud, three harassment complaints, four hit-and-runs, one littering complaint, one report of lost property, two trespassing complaints, one weapons offense, 26 911 hang-ups, six ATV?problems, and eight drug problems.

At least 29 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 46 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least 14 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including four for failure to appear, six for probation violation, three for bail jumping and one for felony mistreatment of an animal.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 77 to 87. As of June 3, there were 87 inmates.

Monday, June 3

- 6:30 a.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway K near Keego Road in the town of Boulder Junction involving Brandon T. Landowski of Wausau.

Sunday, June 2

- 1:01 a.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on McPeak Road near Church Road in Conover involving Tobin J.?Rott of Mukwonago.

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 32 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded three 911 hang-ups, one hit-and-run, two vehicle accidents, one burglar alarm, one request for an intercept, three ambulance requests, one report of animal cruelty, one animal problem, two burglaries, two requests for citizen assistance, three reports of criminal damage to property, one report of found property, one gas drive-off, one report of illegal dumping, one informational report, one request for officer assistance, two suspicious circumstances, one hazard, two traffic violations and two utility problems.

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported two 911 hang-ups, two animal problems, one apprehension request, four requests for agency assistance, four ATV?violations, six boat violations, one burglary, one disturbance, two instances of domestic violence, one fire, 12 hazards, one welfare check, six informational reports, two instances of lost property, one scam, two services, two suspicious circumstances, three traffic stops, one trespassing complaint and one vandalism complaint.
