One-line trolling OK'd for North

Anglers across the state, but especially in 16 counties that rejected trolling April 8, lost a hard-fought battle with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Natural Resources Board (NRB) and Conservation Congress when NRB members endorsed May 22 statewide motor trolling starting with the 2014 fishing season in a 6-1 vote.
At that point, all waters in 56 counties will be open to motor trolling at a level of three lines per person.
Those 16 counties, including Vilas and Oneida counties, also will have motor trolling, but anglers will be allowed one line per person via separate compromises — but with identical results — developed by the Conservation Congress and NRB member Jane
