Last weekend’s nasty little cold front kept the bass from coming in the shallows and completing their spawn, as the water temperatures went down significantly.
This is getting old, as anglers need some consistent warming weather to improve fishing. At some point, the fish that are getting run off of their spawning activities by declining water temperatures are just not going to spawn.
The North Woods has had a lot of rain lately, and this precipitation is helping keep water levels up nicely compared to last year. Weeds are developing pretty well in the area despite the cold water temperatures, so fish are using these new green weeds.
