Helen Krueger Soder, age 71, a 50-year resident of Three Lakes, Wis., died on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at her home.

Helen was born in Evanston, Ill., on Nov. 29, 1941, to Allison and Helen Krueger.

She grew up and attended school in Green Bay, Wis.

She loved gardening and the Green Bay Packers. She especially loved raising and showing Percheron draft horses. The draft horse community was very special to her and she made many lifelong friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Gene Soder.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Sue) Bruss of Evans, Ga., Bryan (Mary­-anne) ?Bruss of Fontana, Wis., Brendan (Stephanie) Bruss of Green Bay and Bevin (Phil) Hahn of Three Lakes; five stepchildren; sister, Mary Hensen of Santa Barbara, Calif.; nephew, Tomac (Athe­na) Henson of Santa Barbara; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Union Congregational Church in Three Lakes. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Memorials to the Three Lakes parks in Helen’s name are appreciated.

Helen was an awesome lady! Incredibly warm and always welcoming of her children's friends. Many wonderful memories of great times at the Soder home, with Helen holding court. She will be missed.

Dear Beven and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Helen was a great women, she was always so nice to me. She will be missed dearly. I am so sorry I am unable to be there today but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Beven is you need someone to talk to just contact me I know how hard it is to go through the loss of a mother.
