James H. Muladore, of Plainfield, Ill., passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Dianne’s Home in the Northwoods, Eagle River, Wis.
He was 87.
Jim was born May 29, 1925, in Streator, Ill., the son of the late James H. and Leta (Pope) Muladore. He attended Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Ill. In 1944, he enlisted in the Air Force as a radar operator on a B-29 Superfortress, serving in the 20th Air Force in the South Pacific.
Upon return from service, Jim married Betty (Robinson) on June 21, 1947.He was a lifelong resident of Plainfield, visiting family in Three Lakes, Wis., for several years. He was employed by Northern Illinois Gas Co., retiring in 1984. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Plainfield, life member of the VFW, member of Plainfield Masonic Lodge No. 536, and Plainfield American Legion Post #13.
He was a proud and loving father, grandfather and American. He was very knowledgeable in carpentry and auto mechanics. He shared his expertise with everyone. He was an avid reader and loved to travel. He was an honorable WWII veteran, who passed on many stories of his experiences in the war.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 66 years (March 20, 2013).
Survivors include one son, Randy (JoAnn) of Three Lakes, Wis.; four grandchildren, Katie of Austin, Texas; Kristi of Madison, Wis.; Kari of Chicago, Ill., and Kyle of Los Angeles, Calif.
A memorial graveside service for both Jim and Betty will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Plainfield Cemetery (Rt. 30 entrance) beginning at 11 a.m.
