|Survey for outdoor recreation plan shows ATV use, trails as top issue|

Preparation of a new five- year Vilas County outdoor recreation plan is being prepared by the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NCWRPC) in cooperation with the county Forestry & Land Committee, with a recent survey showing that all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are the top issue.
Fred Heider of NCWRPC said the planning group identified five goals from responses sent out to lake groups identified by the county Land & Water Department.
“The plan identifies what you have in public outdoor recreation facilities, what do the citizens want and what are the goals for the next five years,” Heider said.The direct mail survey showed most responses, 87,
