Appeals board OKs variances

Variances to the Eagle River zoning code for developing the proposed arts warehouse within the former Shepherd’s Way School were granted last week by the city Board of Appeals, clearing the way for development requested by Design/Builders by Visner, Inc.

Jeff Visner’s vision for the arts warehouse, a gallery to host art classes and performances in a theater, requires modifying the entrance to comply with accessibility standards.

The two main variances needed from the city were for off-street parking and front yard setback standards.
