Leon J. ‘Red’ Nolte PDF Print E-mail

Leon J. “Red” Nolte, of St. Germain, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Howard Young Medical Center. He was 78.

Mr. Nolte was born  December 9, 1934, in Mt. Prospect, Ill., the son of Walter and Minnie (nee Greinke) Nolte.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service since he was 16 years old and retired at 55  to the North Woods.

His interests included fishing, golfing and following sports, especially the Chicago Bears and White?Sox.

He was involved with youth sports including baseball, football and hockey. Mr. Nolte also was active in  his church, Community United Church of Christ in St. Germain.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Nolte; son, Robert (Jill) of Breckenridge, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Josie Nolte of Mundelein, Ill.; brother, Floyd (Claudia) Nolte of Longview, Wash.; and grandson, Bryan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Community United Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Mr. Nolte’s name to the Community United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.

Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services of Minocqua and Woodruff is assisting the family.
