Gerald ‘Griz’ Krause PDF Print E-mail

Gerald “Griz” Krause, a longtime resident of Eagle River, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Ontonagon, Mich. He was 88.

Mr. Krause was born March 25, 1925, in Wauwa­tosa, the son of Edward and Blanch Krause.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Krause retired from the Vilas County Courthouse maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally; son, Ross; and brother, Edward.

Survivors include his daughters, Leslie (Chuck) Felten of Rhinelander and Kelly (Steve) Perttula of Trout Creek, Mich.; sons, Tim of Schaumburg, Ill., and Freddy Latala; brother, Otto (Doris) Krause of Minocqua; sisters, Margaret Spiess and Lucille Evanow, both of Eagle River; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were made by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home of Eagle River.
