Pines students to spend day on water through Guides for Grades program

Students at Northland Pines Middle School are improving their grades with incentive from the Guides for Grades program.

Eagle River fishing guide Yukon Jack came up with the idea for the program 15 years ago. The program has been going strong ever since.

Last week, during an assembly at the school, he stressed to students the importance of doing well in school.

“The program is designed to teach students that grades are important,” Yukon Jack said. “This gives the students an incentive to improve their grades.”
