|Community center eyed in Tula’s building|
Thirty area residents recently met at the former Tula’s Café in Eagle River to discuss ways to address the poverty level in Vilas County, which is at 13%, according to the Institute for Research on Poverty.
The group included representatives from the Vilas County Extension of the Salvation Army, Daybreak Adult Day-care Center, Vilas Food Pantry, Northwoods Share, St. Mary’s of the Snows, St. Germain Evangelical Free Church and Abundant Life Church.
Following a tour of the building, Kathy Paul, missions and outreach director, and the Rev. Jim Fosdick, parish priest at St. Mary’s of the Snows Anglican Church, presented their vision to turn the location into a center to serve the community. The Rock Community Center
