After trimming the number of workers in several departments earlier this year as part of a staff reduction program, the Vilas County Board approved staff additions, formed several new positions and supported wage increases at its meeting last week.
The Information Technology (IT) department was reorganized with the county creating a second IT administrator to serve the needs of the sheriff’s department.
“Since 1998, when we installed the Spillman Records System, we’ve been trying to get a dedicated IT person,” Chief Deputy Joe Fath told the board, explaining the system deals with proprietary information.Current IT administrator
