Jim served in the U.S. Army as a communications specialist and spent his career in advertising and sales. He had a lifelong love of dogs and antiques and was an avid reader. He was a great storyteller and repository of family history.He is survived by his wife of 36 years Sally (Shultz) Farmer; their children, Jamie and Jay; grandchildren, Lucy and Jasper; and his sister, Sally Lippert. Jim and his sister grew up spending a month every summer on Black Oak Lake in Land O’ Lakes, Wis., where Jim loved to swim and fish with his Dad.The North Woods held a special place in his heart. A private service will be held on July 12 at the family cottage.
