Vilas County Sheriff

The Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least 14 vehicle accidents, three requests for an ambulance, nine animal problems, six requests for agency assistance, eight burglar alarms, one burglary, one abandoned vehicle, 14 requests for citizen assistance, one domestic violence complaint, two fireworks complaints, four instances of found property, two cases of fraud, three harassment complaints, five trespassing complaints, one hit-and-run, three reports of lost property, four weapons offenses, 10 re­ports of hazardous conditions, five juvenile problems/runaways, five disturbances, six reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, 18 traffic violations, two vacation checks, 10 welfare checks, 33 911 hang-ups, two reports of operating while intoxicated, and two drug problems.

At least 35 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 27 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least three people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including two for disorderly conduct and one for operating after revocation.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 71 to 79. As of July 21, there were 78 inmates.

 

Saturday, July 20

- 3:10 p.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway K near Twin Lake Landing Road in Conover involving William G. Sharko of Laona.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 50 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded one 911 hang-up, six vehicle accidents, one re­quest for agency assistance, one fire alarm, one request for an ambulance, two reports of animal cruelty, one animal problem, one report of battery, six requests for citizen assistance, one disturbance, one report of found property, three harassment complaints, two informational reports, one report of an intoxicated person, one loitering complaint, one drug overdose, four parking problems, one vacation check, one request for officer assistance, one suicide attempt, four suspicious circumstances, two thefts from a vehicle, one threat, one hazard, three traffic violations and one un­secure premise.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported three 911 hang-ups, one vehicle accident, one alarm, one request for an ambulance, two requests for officer assistance, one animal problem, one apprehension request, two requests for motorist assistance, one re­quest for agency assistance, two ATV/dirt bike violations, one bond violation, one burglary, three requests for extra patrol, one fire, one gas drive-off, four hazards, 11 house checks, five informational re­ports, two mental commitments, one narcotics violation, one report of operating while intoxicated, one paper service, three reports of found property, two reports of reckless driving, one service, six suspicious circumstances, three thefts and one traffic stop.
