Bob was born and raised in Eagle River until age 11, when his parents, Walter R. Fett and Alice, moved to Chicago, Ill.
He joined the Air Force at age 18 and served for 21 years in the Air Weather Service, and retired to Carmel, Calif., where he served as Chief Scientist of the Tactical Application Department, Naval Environmental Prediction Facility at the Naval Research Lab in Monterey, Calif.He died peacefully in Carmel, surrounded by his family.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter; his mother, Alice; his grandparents, Robert and Marie Fett of Eagle River; and his wife of 55-plus years, Minnie L. (Jinx) Fett.
He is survived by his four children, Valerie Fett-Harry, Dr. Kristi A. Dove, Emily M. Fett and son, Walter R. Fett, and their spouses; his nine grandchildren; his sister, Janice Fett Benson; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held with Military Honors at the Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel.
He will be missed.
