Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 363 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least 15 vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, two animal problems, three requests for agency assistance, seven burglar alarms, two burglaries, seven requests for citizen assistance, one report of disorderly conduct, three domestic violence complaints, two fireworks complaints, five in­stances of found property, three harassment complaints, three hit-and-runs, one lost person, four reports of lost property, three threats, one weapons offense, three re­ports of hazardous conditions, five juvenile problems/runaways, five disturbances, 11 reports of suspicious circumstances, five thefts, nine traffic violations, three vacation checks, six welfare checks, 30 911 hang-ups, six drug problems and one ATV problem.

At least 30 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 26 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least four people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including two for possession of THC, one for disorderly conduct and one for possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 71 to 80. As of July 8, there were 80 inmates.


Thursday, Aug 1

- 2:38 p.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway B near State Line Road in Presque Isle involving Ronald E. Lindblom of Presque Isle.

- 1:11 a.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Powell Road near Alder Lake Road in the town of Manitowish Waters involving Ezekiel J.?Jonas of Manito­wish Waters.


Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 30 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded four vehicle accidents, two requests for agency as­sistance, one animal problem, two burglar alarms, one report of criminal damage to property, five hazards, one report of littering, one suspicious circumstance, three thefts, three traffic violations, one trespassing complaint, two welfare checks, three 911 hang-ups and one ATV?problem.


Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported four 911 hang-ups, two vehicle accidents, one alarm, one request for an ambulance, one animal at large, two requests for motorist assistance, two requests for agency assistance, three ATV?violations, one boat violation, one report of disorderly conduct, one disturbance, one fireworks complaint, one gas drive-off, one threat, 10 hazards, two welfare checks, 38 house checks, two informational reports, one noise complaint, one instance of found property, one reckless driving complaint, one suspicious circumstance, one theft, 15 traffic stops, one vandalism complaint and two vehicles in a ditch.
