Eagle River Historical Society nets roughly $20,000 at Sunset Point event

More than 240 attendees raised approximately $20,000 for the Eagle River Historical Society at its Sunset Point fundraiser event last week, according to the group’s preliminary figures.

The funds will help the society continue its work renovating a new museum off Highway 45 in Eagle River.

Historical Society Vice President Karen Sailer said the cocktail fundraiser — which included tours of the estate on Catfish Lake — proved a success.
