I have two new trees in my back yard, trees that are attempting to replace the two I lost to lightning and wind last year. These trees are small compared to those that were lost and I know it will take time for them to grow and bring shade and birds to my yard. Luckily my yard is surrounded by lush arbor vitae and full lilac bushes, both of which are very tall and provide cover for dozens of birds that awaken me with their song. I know that these new trees will take a while to mature and that I will enjoy watching them grow over the years ahead.
