When friends and colleagues talk about the late Phil Brandner of Eagle River, they are quick to mention his old-fashioned market and commend his community service.
Brandner died July 16, 2013, at the age of 92.
He was born April 11, 1921, in Elcho, to Madge and Arthur Brandner. His father bought what was to become Brandner’s Market, which was a fine purveyor of meats cut to order, in 1928. The family, along with Brandner’s sister, Jean, then made the move to Eagle River.
