Cooler temperatures changing fish patterns
By George Langley

With the cooler temperatures and north wind last weekend it felt more like a normal first week of September. Here’s hoping we don’t pay for this comfortable weather with hot stuff in September, when we really don’t want it.

Weeds are now starting to die off in the shallows on many lakes, which is normal for this time of year. The deeper the weeds, the greener they stay up here.

Water temperatures are dropping to the very low category for this time of year. On some lakes, they are now in the 60s. This is very unusual and will have an effect on the fishing if they go up again.

Walleye fishing is decent, with good
