Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 400 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least 16 vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, four animal problems, five requests for agency assistance, six burglar alarms, two burglaries, nine requests for citizen assistance, one report of disorderly conduct, two domestic violence complaints, three fireworks complaints, four instances of found property, one case of fraud, two harassment complaints, five reports of lost property, two threats, two weapons offenses, nine re­ports of hazardous conditions, four juvenile problems/runaways, six disturbances, 10 reports of suspicious circumstances, seven thefts, 15 traffic violations,  two welfare checks, 25 911 hang-ups, six drug problems, one ATV?problem and two reports of operating while intoxicated.

At least 28 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 33 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one possession of a controlled substance and one for disorderly conduct.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 83 to 89. As of Aug. 9, there were 83 inmates.


Friday, Aug. 9

- 2 p.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported at 1970 Highway 45 in the town of Washington involving Sarna Coby of Winnepeg, Canada, and Andrew Lichtfuss of Oshkosh.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

- 3:30 p.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway B near Jung Lane involving Duane A. Bower of Blue Mounds and Stefanie M. Scott of Greenfield.


Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 32 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded one 911 hang-up, one hit-and-run, five vehicle accidents, one request for an ambulance, one dog bite, one other animal problem, one burglary, one request for citizen assistance, one disturbance, three drug problems, one instance of found property, one gas drive-off, one harassment complaint, one juvenile problem, one lost person, two parking problems, one suicide attempt, two thefts, two hazards, three traffic violations and one utility problem.


Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported two 911 hang-ups, one vehicle accident, two alarms, five requests for an ambulance, two requests for officer assistance, one animal problem, one request for agency assistance, five ATV/dirt bike violations, one barking dog, two boat violations, two burglaries, one fireworks complaint, two harassment complaints, 10 hazards, 20 house checks, two informational reports, one missing person, one instance of operating while intoxicated, one instance of found property, two reports of reckless driving, three services, three suspicious circumstances, one theft, 13 traffic stops, two reports of vandalism and on vehicle in a ditch.
