By Gary Ridderbusch

North Woods property values declined for the fifth straight year in Vilas and Oneida counties, but state officials say the real estate market is stabilizing with modest gains in commercial property values.

Figures based on actual sales in 2012 show property values dropped 5% in Vilas and 1% in Oneida, a reflection of the continuing recessionary times. The report from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) showed the statewide average decline was 1% as compared to a 3% decline last year.

they were overpriced to begin with PERIOD.
I remember hearing this said by multiple realtors when they were showing friends property.
"well you know, they aren't making lakes any more so the property is priced accordingly"

Then there are the builders/contractors who gouge "lakers" because they have a "million dollar view" and charge more than a big city union company would.
I have had several local companies come out and give me bids, but all they offered was time and material.

You have yourselves to blame for it.
