Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 206 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least six vehicle accidents, one request for an ambulance, three animal problems, one request for agency assistance, five burglar alarms, six burglary, seven requests for citizen assistance, one domestic violence compaint, six instances of found property, three harassment complaints, two hit-and-runs, one weap­ons offense, 10 re­ports of hazardous conditions, one juvenile problem/runaway, one disturbance, four reports of suspicious circumstances, five thefts, four traffic violations, two vacation checks, one welfare check, 10 911 hang-ups, two intances of operating while intoxicated and four drug problems.

At least 20 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 14 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for obstructing justice and one for disorderly conduct.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 83 to 85. As of Aug. 30, there were 84 inmates.

- 12:58 a.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported at 11085 Highway 70 in Arbor Vitae involving David C. Schuette of Woodruff, who was cited for operating under the influence, and a parked vehicle.

- 12:40 - A?one-vehicle accident was reported at Heart II at 11023 Highway 70 in Arbor Vitae involving David C. Schuette of Woodruff, who was cited for operating under the influence.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

- 10:25 p.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 51 and Woodland Drive in Arbor Vitae involving Vince Soto of Arbor Vitae and Joseph H. Balocca of Woodruff.
