Pines foresees JV and varsity hockey teams

Northland Pines School Board was brought up to date last week on the boy’s hockey program, its “no cut” policy and player numbers for the upcoming season.

School board member and Activities Committee Chairman Mark Vander Bloomen reported there were 23 potential hockey team players consisting of 16 returning athletes and seven new members with three goal tenders.

“Depending on the number of players, there will be a varsity and a junior varsity team,” Vander Bloomen said. “We will be working on a plan with the ERRA (Eagle River Recreation Association) for ice time for practices based on a Tuesday, Thursday
