Fath named sheriff, says staff a priority

Joseph Fath, a 32-year veteran of the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department, was appointed the new sheriff last Friday and becomes the 35th sheriff for the county.

The appointment by Gov. Scott Walker fills the vacancy created by the death of Frank Tomlanovich earlier this year.

Fath took the oath of off- ice administered by county Clerk Dave Alleman before family,
