Rug-twining session set Sept. 25 at library PDF Print E-mail

Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River has announced its upcoming events.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. the story hour theme will be apples. Attendees will hear stories, sing songs and do a craft activity.

The library requests that an adult accompany all child participants.

Friday, Sept. 20, Origami and Friendship Bracelet Making session with Chris Ring will be held from 4 to 4:50 p.m. in the children’s area of the library.

Participants will learn new figures or remake old favorites.

Children 8 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.

A rug twining session with Ann Wichmann is set Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Attendees will learn how to make twined rugs or help make the one in the children’s area.

Children 8 and younger require adult accompaniment.

Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., the story hour theme will be scarecrows. One of the stories read will be “The Scarecrow Who Couldn’t Scare.”

The hour will also include music and crafts.

Friday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 4:50 p.m. will be another session of Origami and Friendship Bracelet Making with Chris Ring.

Quincy and his pals had a wonderful summer listening to children read to them and will be coming again this fall. Their fall schedule will start Monday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 5 p.m.

A sign-up sheet is available on the dictionary stand in the children’s area to reserve 10-minute sessions.

Participants may read a book of their choosing.

Children 8 and younger require adult accompaniment.
