|Town of Lincoln to shut off lights|

Rising energy bills and falling state revenue sharing funds will result in 47 streetlights being shut off in the town of Lincoln come Oct. 15, according to a unanimous town board decision last week.
The lamps — located north of Eagle River on Highway 45 between Airport Road and McKinley Boulevard — typically cost the town of Lincoln $10,000 annually to electrify.
The town signed a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT)
