Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 190 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least 20 vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, nine animal problems, 11 requests for agency assistance, nine burglar alarms, three burglaries, nine re­quests for citizen assistance, three domestic violence complaints, one fireworks complaint, five instances of found property, three cases of fraud, three harassment complaints, two hit-and-runs, two reports of lost property, six re­ports of hazardous conditions, six juve­nile problems/runaways, three disturbances, 11 reports of suspicious circumstances, six thefts, 17 traffic violations, two vacation checks, one welfare check, 22 911 hang-ups, four ATV?violations and one drug problem.

At least 20 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 18 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least one person was booked at the Vilas County Jail for operating while intoxicated.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 84 to 95. As of Sept. 23, there were 95 inmates.


Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 28 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded two 911 hang-ups, two accidents with property damage, one burglar alarm, one request for an ambulance, three animal problems, three burglaries, two attempted burglaries, two requests for citizen assistance, one report of criminal damage to property, one disturbance, one report of found property, one harassment complaint, one noise complaint, one search warrant, one report of suspicious circumstances, three thefts, one traffic violation and one un­secure premise.

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported two vehicle accidents, one request for an ambulance, one animal at large, one request for agency assistance, 26 business checks, two requests for an extra patrol, two fires, one gas drive-off, one report of gunshots, seven hazards, three house checks, six informational reports, one juvenile problem, two mental commitments, one neighbor complaint, one report of operating while intoxicated, two paper services, four suspicious circumstances, four traffic stops and three reports of vandalism.
