Rachel K. Brown, of Wausau, Wis., died on Sept. 20, 2013, at Lili Assisted Living. She was 91.
Born in Butterfield, Minn., on June 10, 1922, to the late Reinhold and Mary (Rempel) Kintzi. Her family moved to Mountain Lake, Minn., where she attended grade school and high school.
Rachel attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in Public Health Nursing.She married Melvin Brown on Dec. 26, 1946, and they moved from Minneapolis to Eagle River, Wis., in 1947.
Rachel is survived by her two daughters, Marsha (Don) Kaehler, Keizer, Ore., and Renette Casey of Wausau; one son, Jeffrey (Joyce) Brown of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, Scott (Janice) Casey of Cleveland, Ohio, Clint (Beth) Casey of Oshkosh, Wis., Jenny (Andy) Beilke of Tampa, Fla., Kristina Brown and Andrew Brown, both of St. Paul; two great-grandchildren, Lucy Casey and Gavin Casey of Cleveland.
Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, five sisters and a brother.
A private family service was held.
Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, assisted the family with arrangements.
