Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 301 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.The department reported at least 15 vehicle accidents, one request for an ambulance, three animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, 13 burglar alarms, two burglaries, 12 requests for citizen assistance, one battery, one domestic violence complaint, two fireworks complaints, three cases of fraud, two harassment complaints, two hit-and-runs, one lost person, one report of lost property, two threats, two weapons offenses, 16 reports of hazardous conditions, seven juvenile problems/runaways, one disturbance, eight reports of suspicious circumstances, five thefts, eight traffic violations, seven welfare checks, nine 911 hang-ups, and six drug problems.
At least 19 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 13 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least three people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for operating without a license, one for theft and one for obstructing justice.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 81 to 91. As of Sept. 28, there were 83 inmates.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 24 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one 911 hang-up, one hit-and-run, two accidents with property damage, two requests for an ambulance, one dog bite, six requests for citizen assistance, one report of disorderly conduct, one disturbance, one Lifeline alarm, one power line down, one probation violation, one request for officer assistance, three thefts, one hazard and one traffic violation.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported two 911 hang-ups, two vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, one animal problem, one request for agency assistance, one barking dog, two burglaries, 28 business checks, one threat, 12 hazards, one welfare check, six house checks, one mental commitment, one report of found property, one suspicious circumstance, and two traffic stops.
