Joan was born on July 28, 1930, to parents Ferris P. Jossart and Gertrude M. Goff Jossart.
She attended Minocqua High School where she participated in the band and was a cheerleader.Joan attended Eau Claire State Teacher’s College for one year as a music major, but quickly decided that her heart was set on a different career path.
She married the love of her life, Clarence Olson, and they spent most of the next 60 years together until his death just three months ago.
Joan loved the North Woods and spent many happy hours watching her birds, chipmunks and other wildlife that accepted her offerings. She had a wonderful sense of humor that kept her going through good times and bad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and daughter, Joy Kumbier.
Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Light of San Antonio, Texas, Jodie Peters of Cedaredge, Colo., and Debbie Duncan of Woodruff, Wis.; grandchildren, Christopher Wheeler, Sean Wheeler, Adam Wheeler, Lavonne Kumbier, Rob Kumbier, Amanda Peters, Rhonda Peters, Bryan Duncan and Eryn Duncan; and great-granddaughter, Bethany Wheeler.
She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
