|Walker announces Rustic Roads Week|
Gov. Scott Walker has proclaimed Sept. 30 through Oct. 6 Rustic Roads Week in Wisconsin. The state proclamation marks the 40-year anniversary of Wisconsin’s Rustic Roads program.
In 1973, the State Legislature created the program, which is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT).“This pioneering program was developed to help citizens and local governments preserve and promote lightly-traveled country roads in Wisconsin,” said DOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb. “Our Rustic Roads have several natural roadside features that offer relaxing and enjoyable traveling
