|Pines approves 18% levy hike|

At a sparsely attended annual meeting and budget hearing of the Northland Pines School District Monday night, 18 electors approved an 18% tax levy increase that will help fund the 2013-’14 budget of $23,753,155.
While total spending only increased about 0.05%, the proposed levy increased by 18.67%, going from $16,702,872 to $19,821,260.
