Affordable health care welcomed by many seniors PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

I am writing this on the first day of Obamacare, the affordable health-care law, which goes into effect today despite the Tea Party’s effort to stop the law.

In the process, they, led by Tea Party Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), also shut down the government. The party of no is also the party of not getting anything done. I?hope they are happy taking their paychecks that we, the people, pay them while others have none. I can’t believe they did this while trying to deny 50 million people health care while they have theirs.

What makes them so mean? Well they can take their marbles and go home now because they accomplished nothing.

Many of my friends are signing up for health insurance today that they couldn’t get before. They are so happy to finally have the chance. I am already enjoying parts of it that went into effect as are my married children. They are now able to keep their college children on their insurance until they are 26 years of age. My grandchildren have benefits they were never able to have when our children were in college.

We know there will be some problems along the way, but they should all be trying to work them out, not destroy the whole affordable health-care law!

Now, we seniors, as well as others, can all rest easy because we cannot be denied health-care insurance for something as common as high blood pressure. These pre-existing conditions no longer exist and most of the elderly have them.

Maybe if the congressmen start voting with their conscience, instead of their Tea Party brain, we can get some common sense back in Washington.

Instead of saying my way or the highway, start working together like they did in the old days. Obstruction never gets anything good done, so let’s start to all be friends again. They did it in the past, we can do it again. Many of my friends are Republicans and we get along just fine.

John,

I use as many posts as it takes to continually prove that the shtick, (or "material" as you put it), you use to facilitate your standard operating procedure, merely consists of distortions, mischaracteriza tions and fabrications like the video you played off of on the presidential debate.

And I see that since you were proven wrong in your blanket indictment of the Tea Party, you suddenly changed your shtick to, "those teaparty members in the crowd."

But of course you just fabricated "And typical to see you merely blow off those teaparty members in the crowd that give no regard to sick Americans," when in fact as you know, I referred to them as "bad apples."

Based on yet another blatant fabrication that I've just documented, you seriously are the most unapologeticall y dishonest person that I've ever come across. And the sad part is that you seem to have zero care about it.

Telling.

CONGRATS FRANK! 4 more posts in a row from you pushing the thread over 100 AGAIN! For someone that complains about post count you sure seem to forget who is responsible for making the count that high! And typical to see you merely blow off those teaparty members i the crowd that give no regard to sick Americans. There's a reason why the American Taliban's numbers and approval are at an all time low in this country.

John,

These four posts come several hours after the last one from yesterday after I had a chance to review the presidential debate video you linked.

http://gawker.com/5839564/gop-debate-crowd-on-uninsured-sick-americans-let-them-die

In question is your statement in post 93, “Anyone that doesn't care about his fellow human getting access to healthcare, the so-called "Let them die" crowd are merely morally corrupt.

And then you posted a link in 96 in which you stated: “As for our resident Narcissist Frank, Right from your side and out of the mouths of the American Taliban.”

See, I took you at your word on how you characterized the video, (“American Taliban otherwise know as the teaparty, I'm not shouting out "Good! Let them Die!") instead of heeding my number one rule that warns not to trust “anything” you say. And I never would have posted that link, even out of desperation, because I would look foolish right now – as you do for making an issue out of nothing.

The only thing the video proves is that as usual for your advantage, you distorted, mischaracterize d and fabricated what actually took place by defaming the entire Tea Party, for the actions of a few.

Wolf Blitzer questions Ron Paul:

“Hypothetical, a healthy 30 year-old young man has a good job, makes a good living, but decides, ‘You know what, I’m not going to spend $200 - $300 a month for health insurance because I’m healthy and I don’t need it.’ But something terrible happens and all of a sudden he needs intensive care for six months. So who’s going to pay for him if he goes into a comma.”

Paul proceeds to give an entirely reasonable response of personal responsibility that normal Americans agree with. But of course, the only way for you to exploit the situation is through a fabrication implicating the entire Tea Party for the reprehensible outburst of 3 or 4 bad apples.

But on the other hand, although they might not “shout out loud,” not just a few, but millions of pro-choicers have the exact same attitude about - letting “millions” die - simply by being pro-choice.

And the Gawker article you posted lied when it said: “But as you'll see in this video, the audience sure made its mind up quickly”! 4 – 5 people do not constitute “the audience.”

Additionally, the title of the piece “Tea Party Crowd on Uninsured Sick Americans: Let Them Die! Is not only a lie by using the word “crowd” but lie about a “healthy person who has a good job, making a good living being characterized as “uninsured sick Americans,” in general.

And you not only posted this fabrication but played off of it.

You are starting to mimic Alan Grayson.

End.

I KNEW you would go there Frank! Congrats! Unfortunately for you unlike the American Taliban otherwise know as the teaparty, I'm not shouting out "Good! Let them Die!" I want as few abortions as possible and advocated for comprehensive sex ed to lessen that number even more while your side pushed for abstinence only sex ed which has proven to be a failure time and time again driving abortion rates higher. Hmmmmm

John,

You couldn't be a bigger hypocrite when you talk about trying to save lives, yet support the extermination of 1.2 million of them per year simply by being pro-choice.

Your world view is illogical and warped, as is the case with Marxists in general.

Ian feel free to call me that. Problem with your assumption however is EVERYONE can be considered a socialist to some degree. Anyone that uses Medicare or SS is a Socialist as an example. I get a kick out of those o the FAR Right who yell "No universal healthcare...its Socialism" then in the next breath say "Leave your hands off my Medicare!". Your comment on the post office shows you have no idea WHY they are in the shape they are in. NO business is forced to prefund it retiree heathcare for 10 years as Conress has done to the P.O. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-02/understanding-the-post-office-s-benefits-mess.html As for our resident Narcissist Frank, Right from your side and out of the mouths of the American Taliban......http://gawker.com/5839564/gop-debate-crowd-on-uninsured-sick-americans-let-them-die

John,

Congratulations ! As our “resident” Marxist, you out-performed even the most polished hypocrite with that phony
“material” when you stated: “Anyone that doesn't care about his fellow human getting access to healthcare, the so-called "Let them die" crowd are merely morally corrupt.”

And spare us the act and the phony
“material” as well. You were way out of character in that performance.
