Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 278 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.The department reported at least 21 vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, five attempts to locate, six animal problems, six requests for agency assistance, five burglar alarms, four burglaries, nine requests for citizen assistance, one battery, one domestic violence complaint, one fireworks complaint, five instances of found property, one case of fraud, one harassment complaint, one trespassing complaint, two reports of lost property, three threats, three weapons offenses, five reports of hazardous conditions, two juvenile problems/runaways, four disturbances, four reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, nine traffic violations, three welfare checks, 14 911 hang-ups, two reports of operating while intoxicated, and two drug problems.
At least 24 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 18 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for theft and one for obstructing justice.
During the week, the inmate population at the Vilas County Jail ranged from 78 to 86. As of Oct. 7, there were 86 inmates.
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 15 calls for the Eagle River Police.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported one 911 hang-up, one vehicle accident, three alarms, five requests for an ambulance, one request for officer assistance, three requests for motorist assistance, one barking dog complaint, one burglary, 14 business checks, two disturbances, one request for an extra patrol, one fire, two gas drive-offs, two reports of gunshots, one threat, eight hazards, five house checks, five informational reports, one narcotics violation, one runaway, one suspicious circumstance, one theft and seven traffic stops.
