Oneida sets policy for ATVs on roads
By Anthony Drew
News-Review Asst. Editor

The Oneida County Public Works Committee has decided to let area towns begin the process to designate certain county highways as all-terrain vehicle (ATV)?routes.

Local ATV clubs and other interested parties may contact their local town board and request that certain county highways be considered for ATV?routes.

The town board, in turn, may decide to draft a letter of recommendation for the Public Works Committee, according to Oneida Highway Commissioner Freeman Bennett.

“We want to make sure it’s all right with the townships, that they feel comfortable having county roads open for ATV use in their area,” he said.
