Dorothy Yaeger Curran PDF Print E-mail

Dorothy Yaeger Curran of Three Lakes was born in Ma­di­son, Wis., on July 6, 1929, and died on Oct. 8, 2013.

Dorothy attended Edgewood College and graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Speech Pathology, and taught in parochial and public schools in Wisconsin.

After moving to Arlington Heights, Ill., she worked as a speech therapist, youth minister and Eucharistic minister in her parish, Our Lady of the Wayside.

Dorothy married Robert Emmett Curran in 1959. They have four children, Mary Elizabeth (Jose Perez), Catherine Ann (John Feole), Robert Emmett (Christine LaPorte) and Jane Maureen (Steve Botta).

Dorothy and Bob moved to the North Woods in 1993.

Dorothy was an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish and involved in many committees, including the Building Committee for the new church, Women of St. Peter’s, Art and Environment, the Thrift Shop, and numerous events and activities.

Dorothy loved reading, antiquing, spending time with good friends and special times with her grandchildren, Ben, Sara, Clare, Lara, Lia, Nick, Connor, Ryan and Jack.

She is survived by one brother, John William Yaeger (Loie), and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Doris Yaeger; and sister, Sr. Mariam Yaeger, O.P.

Dorothy was very grateful for the support and kindness of friends and family these past few months.

Dorothy was a loving wife, a caring mother and a faithful friend. She will be dearly missed.

The funeral Mass for Dorothy was held Oct. 12, 2013, at St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Eagle River.

So sad to find out this Christmas of the loss of Dorothy. She was a friend, mentor and like a second mother to me. Loved her dearly and will miss the yearly updates. My prayers and sympathy to her loving husband Bob and her wonderful children. She will be missed.
