Dorothy Cole Casey, a former resident of Eagle River, died Oct. 3, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz. She was 97.

She was born Oct. 7, 1915, in Plymouth, the daughter of Edwin and Martha Larson.

Mrs. Casey resided with her first husband of 54 years, Eugene H. Cole, in Oshkosh where she was executive director of the American Red Cross Oshkosh Chapter.

She frequently vacationed with her husband and three children at their family cabin in Eagle River.

In 1998, she married Joseph John Casey of Eagle River, and they were together for five years.

Her interests included her book club, volunteering at  Olson Memorial Library, and being active in the Eagle River community and civic organizations.

Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her husbands, and one granddaughter.

Survivors include one son, Eugene (Carol) Cole Jr. of Mesa; two daughters, Christine (Robert) McCleery of Tuscon, Ariz., and Wendy (Michael) Gallagher of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A private memorial is planned.
