Three Lakes STEM students build, race cardboard boats

As a part of Three Lakes High School’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program, students recently built boats using nothing but cardboard and duct tape.

“It seems like a simple idea — build a boat — but once the students started looking at the design challenges, and using the science and math behind boats, the problems become a little more interesting,” said STEM?teacher Al Votis.
