The Northland Pines football team lost its first WestPAC game of the season, falling to West Iron County in Iron River, Mich., 39-6 last Saturday afternoon.

“We certainly got beat by the better team Saturday,” said Pines coach Eric Swanson. “They came out ready to play, which was the key to the game because they jumped on us early and had a commanding lead at halftime.”

West Iron County got two first-quarter touchdowns to take a 12-0 lead.
