|Vilas delays decision on paying supervisors with annual salary|

A proposal to provide salaries for Vilas County Board supervisors was delayed last week after it was learned the plan would increase the cost for county board business by 60%.
The proposal would eliminate per diem payments of $47 for attending committee meetings to be replaced with an annual salary of $4,008 or $344 per month for each supervisor no matter how many meetings they attend. It was projected this would increase the budget for county board business from $50,000 a year to $80,000, or a jump of 60%.According to county Clerk Dave Alleman, Supervisor Ralph Sitzberger
