Shoreland rules for some towns can’t be enforced

Waukesha court case 
relies on county laws

Up to 236 towns in Wisconsin, including six in Vilas County that have local town shoreland zoning ordinances, might find they can’t be enforced due to a court decision in Waukesha County, according to information from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Vilas County Zoning Department.

No Oneida County towns have their own shoreland zoning ordinance.
