City accepts $51,135 bid to clean up Pride property
By Ken Anderson

Demolition and cleanup of the former Charles Pride property on Eagle River’s south side, acquired after Vilas County took title for nonpayment of taxes, will begin shortly, after the City Council approved a bid for the work in a special session last week.

Four bids were received, ranging from a low of $51,135 to a high of $135,365. C&D Excavating LLC of Merrill submitted the low bid and the council awarded them the work.

The city was awarded a grant to pay for 50% of the cost for cleaning up blighted areas.
