Marvin A. Kraut of Conover, formerly of Clintonville, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Kindred Hearts in New London. He was 89.

Mr. Kraut was born Sept. 28, 1924, on the family farm in Larrabee to Robert and Ella (Reinke) Kraut.

He was united in marriage March 10, 1945, to Ella M. Schultz at Immanuel Lutheran Church parsonage in Caroline.  They were lifelong dairy farmers in Larrabee.

After retiring in 1979, the couple settled in Conover. While living up north, he  worked for close to 30 years for the Wisconsin Valley Improvement Co., recording the weather and raising or lowering the dam on the Wisconsin River.

Mr. Kraut also did maintenance for eight or nine years with Camp Ramah in Con­over. For the past year he resided at Kindred Hearts in New London.

His interests included fishing, cutting firewood,  hunting squirrels and deer, and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Survivors include six daughters, Donna (Bob) Schoen­heide of Waupun; Judy (Arden) Patri of Bear Creek; Karen (Victor) Young of Kaukauna; Connie (Larry) Wisnefske of Clintonville; Sheryl (Mike) Gillette of Scandinavia; and Bonnie (Larry) Raddatz of Sheboygan;  two sisters, Verna (Mert) Albert of Clintonville, and Ione Garcia of Appleton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Nov. 1 at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Clintonville. The Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiated and burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
