Clothing effort reaches 23% of 2013 goal PDF Print E-mail

Donations to Warm The Children, a program to provide winter clothing to qualified families and sponsored by the Vilas County News-Review, have been steadily coming in and now reached approximately 23%, almost one-quarter to goal, according to News-Review Publisher Kurt Krueger.

“Because the program has been in effect these past 17 seasons, local parents are aware it exists and have hopes to obtain warm clothing for their children,” commented program coordinator Sharina Adams.

“We know winter is well on its way as evidenced by the snow we received last week; it is my hope that it made our readers more aware of the need and that they will donate to the program,” Adams continued.

“Every cent received goes to purchase warm winter clothing for area children. The News-Review picks up all administrative fees and every donation, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated,” she said.

For more information about the program or to become a volunteer shopper, contact Adams at (715) 479-4421. Donations may be dropped off at the News-Review office at 425 W. Mill St. in Eagle River or mailed to P.O. Box 1929, Eagle River, WI 54521.
