Ione Krin­gel Lumley, formerly of Eagle River, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Regency Retirement Village in Jackson, Tenn. She was 85.

Mrs. Lumley was born in Eagle River to Hubert and Elsie (née Wilson) Kringel. She married her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Lumley, April 21, 1951.

She was a retired secretary for General Electric Research and a member of West Jackson Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Mission Union and a Sunday school teacher.

Her interests included her family, hospital volunteer work, giving devotions in nursing homes and her Christian faith.

Mrs. Lumley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Diane Kringel; and one brother, Robert Kringel.

Survivors include one son, R. Todd (Tere) Lumley of Jackson; two sisters, LaVerne Penoyer of Central Square, N.Y., and Orlene Chrismer of Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, Larry (Cynnie) Kringel of Crossville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 25, at West Jackson Baptist Church in Tennessee.

Entombment followed in Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Jackson.

The family requests that memorials be made to West Jackson Baptist Church Building Fund or Prayer Garden, the American Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis.

Arrangements were made by?Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson.
