|Some lights back on in town of Lincoln|
By Ken Anderson
Eagle River Light & Water has been asked to turn on the streetlights along Highway 45 north of the city and to send the electric bill to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), according to utility Manager Pat Weber.
The town of Lincoln previously claimed the estimated $10,000 annual cost of powering the lights was excessive and had 47 lights turned off.
However, the DOT Wisconsin Rapids office provided a letter to the city utility asking they turn the street lamps back on.Information from Weber indicated that the DOT will be billed a fixed maintenance fee of $3.50
