|Town of Phelps holds annual budget meeting|
More than 100 community members attended the town of Phelps budget meeting and special meeting at the school last week, deciding by hand vote to reinstate $7,500 in funding to the Phelps Historical Museum.
Town Chairman Colin Snook went over the budget, pointing out line items that were changed.
Some of the items that were pointed out included $300,000 for capital outlay roads, which includes a stretch on Sugar Maple Road to South Shore Road; decreasing the budget to $20,000 for the Chamber of Commerce; cutting parks capital outlay; improvements and community development; and budgeting for the museum.
Snook opened the meeting up for questions and comments after the general meeting, and there were a number of comments about the museum.
