Board raises levy by $60,000 for purchase of fire tanker

The St. Germain Town Board set the 2014 levy at $835,041 during a meeting held Nov. 20. The levy was raised by $60,000 over the proposed levy of $775,041 which is the same amount as last year.

The increase is to be placed in an equipment fund for the eventual purchase of a fire department tanker.

The full town board, town treasurer and town clerk were present at both meetings. In addition to the board, 13 qualified electors and one visitor were also present at both meetings.
