St. Germain panel rejects petition to remove hounds from property
By Wally Geist
St. Germain Correspondent

ST. GERMAIN — Six neighbors and other interested individuals from Colonna Estates subdivision who signed a second petition regarding removal of bear hounds from the property of Steve White adjacent to the subdivision attended the St. Germain Planning and Zoning Committee meeting last week.

A motion to reject the petition based on the fact that the committee does not have the authority to remove the animals from the property was approved by the committee.

Committee member Mary Platner said she researched local and county statutes regarding the housing of 12 bear hounds on White’s property.
